Presented by Sisters in Sync, the You Go, Girl! Awards are an annual celebration in honour of International Day of the Girl that recognize, celebrate and support Black girls aged eight to 21 from Hamilton, Toronto and the GTA.
On Friday, October 11, at the historic Liuna Station in Hamilton, the You Go, Girl! Awards will acknowledge the diverse accomplishments of young Black girls and women through eight awards dedicated to academic achievements, community involvement, artistic endeavours and personal growth.
Guests to the awards gala will enjoy a lively evening filled with inspiring speeches, a silent auction, photo opportunities, food & drinks, music and special guests including MPP Arielle Kayabaga, CP24 personality Kayla-Marie Williams, and creator Jalen-Juwan Nelson. The event will also feature a spoken word and music performance from Hamilton’s Akila Walcott and a dance performance by youth members of Studio of Purpose.
