Do you ever think to yourself, it’d be nice to be able to consult a lawyer about my grievances right at this exact moment, while getting your morning coffee?

Your wish is Lawyers and Lattes‘ command.

This new spot at Eglinton and Avenue is serving up coffee and legal services in a cute and comfortable cafe atmosphere.

The brain-child of Dale Barrett, founder of Barrett Tax Law, Lawyers and Lattes is intended to break down the barrier of the commonly intimidating feel of more traditional corporate environments.

“[He wanted to have a] non-traditional law firm that broke down those barriers and provided clients with a more accessible, approachable, and affordable experience,” Tara Steinberg, one of the spot’s Managing Partners, told Daily Hive in an email.

The stress of a fussy law office is removed, but the integrity and respect of privacy that you’ll find in a more corporate space remains intact.

“We have a boardroom and a Lawyer’s office, where we can meet with the clients privately for any and all confidential matters. However, before they meet with the lawyer, they can sit in the cafe and enjoy a coffee, tea or muffin, or use the WiFi and get some work done,” Steinberg said.

In addition to the inclusive space, the prices of the services are notably accessible, too.

“We also use technology and our own software to streamline the traditional process of intake and drafting documents, where we can, which allows us to provide very competitive and affordable pricing,” Steinberg said.

“We are also striving to offer services that help the community and we provide free seminars, roughly twice a month, and various walk-in services, like notarizations.”

And even if you’re not currently in the market for legal services, this spot’s chill vibe invites you in to finish that assignment, read a book, or catch up with friends.

“We want people to know that they can stop by to work on their laptops, meet with friends, or a read a book from our tax library in an armchair by the fireplace, they can also grab a cup of joe and take it to go,” said Steinberg.

*Raps gavel.*

We declare this spot a must-visit.
