As if you really needed an excuse to spend a weekend stuffing your face with buttery, flaky viennoiserie, La Fête du Croissant – AKA $1.25 Croissant Day – is on in Toronto this Saturday, April 28.

The annual “crescent festival” originates in Montreal and now in its seventh year, it’s spread to 106 participating bakeries and patisseries across eastern Canada, including Toronto locations of Nadège Patisserie and Jules Cafe Pâtisserie.
