It’s time to pull out your fanciest hat – the Kentucky Derby is back on May 4!
If you don’t have cable, as so few do these days, don’t fret. There are a number of Toronto eateries that will be screening the most exciting couple minutes in sports on Saturday night.
Here’s where you can catch the derby live in Toronto.

This party starts at 3 pm with music from DJ Bobby Love, classic bourbon cocktails, and prizes for the best dressed. Yes—big hats and seersuckers are encouraged. Kentucky Woodford Reserve, the derby’s official bourbon, will be the whiskey of choice for the affair. Grab a shot at the bar or enjoy a mint julep on the patio. Either way, make sure you’re by the big screen for 6:45 pm.

At this spot, you’ll hear live Cuban music from the bourbon bar and watch with wonder as the chef cooks up a Mexican spin on the eatery’s famous Jambalaya in a big pan on an open flame out front, in celebration of both the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo! The race will be on-screen at 6:50 pm. Two birds, they say.
