Kawhi Leonard is once again a member of the Toronto Raptors.

Finally.

After a summer of uncertainty, the trade is now a “done deal,” according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

“The LA Clippers and Raptors have both agreed to complete the trade sending Kawhi Leonard to Toronto,” Charania reported on Monday. “The sides will now schedule a trade call.”

The original trade, first reportedly agreed to 76 days before Monday’s announcement, is moving forward. That means that Brandon Ingram and Gradey Dick are on their way to Los Angeles, along with two unprotected first-round picks, one first-round pick swap, and two second-round picks.

The NBA investigation into the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard came to a relatively positive conclusion, from a Raptors perspective. While the Clippers and their owner Steve Ballmer were punished heavily, the punishment didn’t negatively impact Toronto.

Leonard was fined $700,000, but he didn’t receive a suspension. That means he should be ready to go for the Raptors when the regular season tips off Oct. 21.

Kawhi’s arrival is a game-changer for the Raptors, who are now among the betting favourites to win the NBA championship. If they do manage to win it all, that would make Kawhi two-for-two in Toronto.
