You can virtually visit this iconic downtown Toronto pub

While patio drinks are still out of the question, Toronto’s iconic Imperial Pub has found a digital solution for those missing the vibe of the city’s restaurants.

A long-standing pillar of Yonge-Dundas Square’s immediate surroundings, the pub has turned to Zoom to allow customers to recreate the timeless spot’s feel, from home.

You can “enter” the pub in the online sphere by clicking the Zoom link on the eatery’s webpage. Before you enter the video call, the page also gives you the option of downloading a variety of backgrounds that capture the interior of the pub.

With the click of a few buttons, it’s like you’reĀ really there. Sort of.

The Imperial’s team is online live, every day, from 3 to 11 pm. If you log on and place a takeout order face-to-face with a team member, you’ll get 30% off your order.

And, to make the experience even more realistic, you can “meet friends” at the pub, too. Just ask your bartender-host to “seat you at a table” with the pals you’re connecting with, and they will create a private “breakaway” room for your party.

This means that you can virtually “go into” the pub and sit at a “private” table with your buddies.

It may not be a night on the patio, but hey… we’ll take it.
