While travelling abroad will have to wait a little longer, there’s a lot to do within our province. So get your bucket lists out because we’re about to tell you about something that you’re definitely going to want to try.

Hot air ballooning.

Ontario Hot Air Balloon Rides offers the bucket list item locally, allowing you to experience one of the oldest and simplest ways of flying. The family business offers local flights as well as private chartered flights to see the Southern Ontario countryside.

“Every flight is an adventure as you never know exactly where you will land,” Ontario Hot Air Balloon Rides said.

Flights normally reach between 500 and 2,500 feet high. Where allowed, the company can even soar to over 5,000 feet. As flights are dependent on wind, no two flights are the same, so you will get a unique experience of your own.

If you’re afraid of flying, don’t worry–all pilots are experienced and skilled. They are certified by an aviation authority and hold a Transport Canada Hot Air Balloon license.

Shared flights price range from $205 to $275 per person and the private “Sweetheart Flight” is $995 per couple. There are five launch sites that you can take off from including New Dundee, Wilmot, Waterloo, Drumbo, and New Hamburg.

Shared balloon rides must include six to eight people and the company has added clear vision divider planets for each two person compartment on the balloon basket. Hand sanitizers and face masks are also available, if you forget yours at home.

Staff will be equipped when necessary personal protective equipment including gloves and masks.

Check out Ontario Hot Air Balloon Rides website for all their COVID-19 updated details.

While out there enjoying the province, be sure to wear your masks, and maintain physical distance when possible.

Enjoy the ride!
