Toronto Police evacuating High Park after man was seen with a gun

UPDATE: The suspect has been located and taken into custody. Toronto police have reopened the park, stating there are “no public safety concerns at this time,” in a tweet.

Toronto police are currently evacuating High Park following reports of a person with a gun.

A public safety alert was issued just before 4 pm on Tuesday, as a man was reportedly seen with a gun. Police say he was last seen near Colborne Lodge.

The man with the gun has since gone into a wooded area, and police are asking anyone in the park to leave.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.
