Everywhere you can find peak bloom cherry blossoms in High Park

May 15 2019, 8:29 pm

A quick scroll through Instagram will make it clear that High Park is bursting with gorgeous, pink-petal trees, even after days of rain and cold weather.

In fact, according to Sakura in High Park’s latest update, the blossoms in peak bloom have survived “fantastically well,” and it appears the trees have hardly lost any petals.

This is great news for those who have yet to venture to the park to experience the ephemeral blooms.

However, we would recommend heading to the park sooner than later because with rain in the forecast this week, there’s a chance the petals could fall, putting an end to this year’s blossom season.

If you make it to the park in the coming days, experts say these are the best spots to check out the beautiful blooms.

Sports Fields (Near Bloor St. Entrance)

  • 95% of these trees still have there blooms intact

Cherry Hill (Near Grenadier Restaurant)

  • 95% of these trees still have there blooms intact
  • Migrating birds can also be spotted here

Grenadier Pond and Dock

  • 95% of these trees still have there blooms intact

Children’s Adventure Playground and High Park Zoo

  • 75% of these trees still have there blooms intact
  • This will be the best spot to check out the blooms over the long weekend as many buds have yet to fully bloom

If you’re planning on visiting the park in the coming days, just remember High Park is closed to all non-essential vehicles 24 hours a day during the peak bloom.

Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation when visiting High Park.

Alternatively, there are multiple locations throughout the city where you can also check out cherry blossoms in peak bloom.

Check out the shots below to see how beautiful the park looks right now.
