It’s official: the High Park cherry blossoms are officially in peak bloom.

Meaning you need make your way to High Park ASAP if you want to check out the blossoms before the season comes to an end.

According to Sakura in High Park’s latest update, the Sakura hanami tradition (flower viewing) is officially underway and large crowds have taken over the park.

As of Wednesday, all the High Park cherry blossom trees have 90 to 100% open blossoms, and the trees look full and bright.

However, as the old saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” and the days of peak bloom will be cut short this year due to potential rainfall, that’s forecasted over the coming days.

Sakura in High Park says hopefully the rain on Thursday is light enough to allow the blossoms to survive until Friday, so the public can enjoy the bloom for a few more days.

Unfortunately, by Saturday, there’s a 60% chance of showers, which will likely knock down many of the blossoms.

In case you can’t make it to High Park yourself, here’s what the cherry blossom madness looked like this past weekend.
