Environment Canada’s heat warning for Toronto will remain in effect on Monday, as the humidex is expected to reach 37°C in the city.

According to the weather warning, which began on the first day of summer on Saturday, “a warm and increasingly humid airmass will continue today. Border line heat warning criteria is expected to be reached again. Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can cause the air quality health index to approach the high risk category.”

Monday’s high is 30°C, while Tuesday is expected to be 25°C.

There is a chance of showers on Monday and a thunderstorm during the evening, as well as on Tuesday, before clearing up by mid week.

Environment Canada states that by Friday, it will be a mix of sun and cloud, and a high of 26°C.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

And as usual, if you head outside in this heat, be sure to practice physical distancing.
