Nobody was more excited than Vladimir Guerrero Jr. after the Toronto Blue Jays were able to punch their ticket to the World Series.
It wasn’t easy, but the Blue Jays were able to best the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS, picking up a massive Game 7 victory at Rogers Centre on Monday night.
Though it was George Springer playing hero in Game 7, the Blue Jays wouldn’t be where they are if not for the play of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The 26-year-old, who was named the ALCS MVP, entered Monday’s outing hitting a blistering .462 with six home runs and 12 RBI.

Guerrero, who committed to the Blue Jays organization with a 14-year contract extension in April, was overcome with emotion when speaking to Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae in an on-field interview.
“We do this for the city, man. We do this for y’all.” Guerrero said. “Four more, baby. Four more.
“We believe in each other. We believe in this team. The first day of spring training, we believed it all. Thank you fans for bringing the energy. We need the energy from you guys. Thank you!”

It’s been an incredible run for the Blue Jays, who, after getting a bye through the Wild Card stage thanks to an AL-best 94-68 record, were able to eliminate the New York Yankees in just four games in the ALDS.
The ALCS against the Mariners proved to be trickier, as they trailed 2-0, and again 3-2, but were able to find a way to battle back and come out on top. They will now prepare to face the LA Dodgers in a best-of-seven to win it all.
The World Series is set to begin on Friday at Rogers Centre, as the Jays will have home-field advantage. As was the case in the ALCS, Games 3, 4, and a potential Game 5 will be on the road, while a potential Game 6 and 7 will be back in Toronto.
