These are the Greater Toronto Area's top employers for 2018

The Greater Toronto Area is hope to some of the best employers in Canada.

After releasing the list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers last month, Mediacorp Canada has released Greater Toronto’s Top Employers 2018, highlighting the best places to work in the region.

“The GTA has always attracted the best and brightest from across the country,” says Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, which manages the GTA competition. “Metropolitan Toronto has long attracted large numbers of educated and talented young people from the rest of Canada. But today the GTA is a beacon for talented people from around the world – and employers in this region now lead the nation when it comes to offering progressive HR policies and initiatives that reflect such a varied and diverse population.”

Now in its 12th year, the Greater Toronto’s Top Employers competition, recognizes employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Winners are graded on eight criteria: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time-Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

The annual competition is open to any employer with its head office in the Greater Toronto Area; employers of any size may apply, whether private or public sector.
