Two GTA schools confirm positive cases of coronavirus

Two GTA schools located in the Halton region have reported positive COVID-19 cases on their premises on Monday, as kids go back to school this week.

The Halton District School Board has reported positive cases at both Brant Hills Public School in Burlington and Garth Webb Secondary School in Oakville as of September 14.

“A positive case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school.  They may have been exposed somewhere else in the community. The identity of the individual is protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared,” said the school board on their COVID-19 page.

HDSB did not specify if the two new cases involve students or staff.

On Sunday, Louise Arbour Secondary School in Brampton reported someone at the school who had tested positive for the virus.

The Peel District School Board confirmed the person was on the premises on September 10.

Daily Hive has reached out to Halton District School Board for comment.
