FreshCo among list of grocery stores reporting employee COVID-19 cases

Over 10 grocery store employees across Toronto and the GTA have reported testing positive for COVID-19 over the past weekend.

According to Loblaws Ltd., several of its grocery stores, including Fortinos, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, and Loblaws, have reported many positive cases among its staff as of Monday.

On January 23, multiple employees at Jeff, Rose & Herb’s No Frills, 3730 Lakeshore Boulevard, reported testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19.

That same day, a Real Canadian Superstore employee at 2549 Weston Road reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 17.

The next day, on January 24, an employee at another Real Canadian Superstore, 825 Don Mills Road, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19.

On January 24, a Loblaws employee at 11 Redway Road reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked in-store on January 21.

That same day, at Nick and Mira’s No Frills, 1450 Lawrence Avenue East in North York, two employees reported testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 17 and 20, respectively.

On January 25, multiple employees at the 8585 Highway 27 Fortinos location in Vaughan reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19.

At a Loblaws in North York, 3501 Yonge Street, an employee reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 and had last worked on January 18.

Sobeys reported six separate COVID-19 cases since Tuesday.

On January 23, an employee at the 2650 Lawrence Avenue East FreshCo reported testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 15.

In Brampton, another FreshCo employee, this time at the 12 Team Canada Drive location, reported testing positive for the virus and had last worked on January 17.

On January 14, at a separate FreshCo location in Brampton, 398 Queen Street West, an employee reported testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 19.

Another Brampton FreshCo location, 398 Queen Street West, reported an employee testing positive for the virus who had last worked on January 19.

In Toronto, on January 24, a FreshCo employee at the 731 Eastern Avenue location reported testing positive for COVID-19 and had last worked on January 20.

In Scarborough, a FreshCo employee at the 2650 Lawrence Avenue East location reported testing positive for the virus and had last worked on January 15.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases in stores by province within the last 15 days, as well as Sobey’s for the last 14 days.
