Loblaws, Metro and Sobeys report over 40 employee COVID-19 cases

Over 40 Toronto and GTA grocery store locations have reported employees testing positive for COVID-19 in the last few days.

Metro has reported three new COVID-19 cases since last week.

On January 12, two Metro employees at 1585 Mississauga Valley Boulevard tested positive for the virus. They last worked on January 4 and 8, respectively.

That same day, a Food Basics at 2550 Hurontario Street in Mississauga reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19. They last worked on January 8.

On January 13, a Food Basics employee at 5559 Dundas Street West in Etobicoke, reported testing positive for COVID-19. They last worked on January 8.

Last week and over the weekend, T&T Supermarket reported two COVID-19 cases among its staff.

A T&T Supermarket at 770 Warden Avenue in Markham reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19 on January 13. They last worked on January 11.

On January 17, an employee at a T&T Market located at 1 Promenade Circle in Thornhill reported tested positive for the virus, having last worked on January 12.

Sobeys reported four separate COVID-19 cases since Friday.

At 5602 Tenth Line West, a Sobeys employee reported testing positive for COVID-19 and last worked on January 11.

At a FreshCo, located at 1255 McCowan Road in Scarborough, an employee reported testing positive for COVID-19 and had last worked on January 16.

At another FreshCo, an employee at 10615 Bramalea Road in Brampton reported testing positive for COVID-19. They last worked on January 15.

At Sobeys, an employee at 1255 The Queensway tested positive for COVID-19 and last worked on January 11.

As for other grocers such as Loblaws, 25 locations reported multiple COVID-19 cases on Friday.

On January 15, two employees at a Fortinos, 2911 Major Mackenzie Drive West, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 4 and January 6, respectively.

That same day, two employees at another Fortinos, 3940 Highway 7 in Vaughan, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus and last worked on January 3 and 12, respectively.

At Davidson’s Valu-mart, an employee at the 985 Woodbine Avenue location reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked on January 12.

On January 15, two employees at a Loblaws located at 5010 Glen Erin Drive in Mississauga reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They both last worked on January 7.

That same day, two employees at a Loblaws located at 60 Carlton Street reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They last worked on January 4 and January 9, respectively.

At a separate Loblaws, 650 Dupont Street, an employee reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus and last worked on January 7.

At Dave & Charlotte’s No Frills, located at 70 Island Road Scarborough, reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 13.

On January 15, an employee at a Real Canadian Superstore, 825 Don Mills Road, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked in-store on January 6.

That same day, two employees at Carlo’s No Frills, 1591 Wilson Avenue, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They last worked in-store on January 9 and 11, respectively.

On January 16, an employee at Loblaw, 5095 Yonge Street, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 7.

The same day, two Fortinos employees at 700 Lawrence Avenue West in North York reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 12 and 14, respectively.

Another Fortinos, 8585 Highway 27 in Vaughan, also reported multiple employees testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19.

At Spataro’s No Frills, 8990 Chinguacousy Road, an employee testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 11.

On January 16, an employee from Loblaws, 500 Lakeshore Boulevard West, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 and last worked on January 15.

At Jeff, Rose & Herb’s No Frills, 3730 Lakeshore Boulevard West in Etobicoke, multiple employees tested positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19.

A Real Canadian Superstore at 85 Steeles Avenue West in Brampton reported two team members testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19. They both last worked on January 9.

On January 17, three employees at a Real Canadian Superstore, 1755 Brimley Road, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. Their last day of work was January 10.

A Loblaws at 380 The East Mall also reported an employee testing positive on January 17. They had last worked on January 13.

George’s Independent City Market, 3080 Yonge Street, reported two employees testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19. They last worked on January 9 and 11, respectively.

At Bayview Valu-mart, 1500 Bayview Avenue, an employee reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 and had last worked on January 15.

A Loblaws employee at 585 Queen Street West reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 13.

At a Real Canadian Superstore, 3050 Argentia Road in Mississauga, reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked in-store on January 11.

A Fortinos in Brampton, 60 Quarry Edge Drive, reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 on January 17 and had last worked on January 15.

In Mississauga, an employee at the 5970 Mclaughlin Road Loblaws reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 7.

At a Fortinos in Etobicoke, 330 Queens Plate Drive, three employees reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked on January 5, 8, and 13, respectively.

On January 18, an employee at a Fortinos, 35 Worthington Avenue in Brampton, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 10.

Once again, Jeff, Rose & Herb’s No Frills, at 3730 Lakeshore Boulevard West in Etobicoke, reported multiple employees testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19 on January 18.

At Loblaws, 650 Dupont Street, two employees reported testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19. They last worked on January 7 and 16.

At a Fortinos, 3940 Highway 7 in Vaughan, two employees reported testing positive on presumptive tests for the virus and last worked on January 12 and 15.

On January 18, multiple team members at a Fortinos, 330 Queens Plate Drive, reported testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19.

At Carlo’s No Frills, 1591 Wilson Avenue, three employees reported testing positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19. The team members last worked on January 9, 11, and 14, respectively.

At Sam & Nancy’s No Frills, 25 Photography Drive, an employee reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 15.

At a Fortinos located at 8585 Highway 27 in Vaughan, multiple employees tested positive on presumptive tests for COVID-19.

“We will always contact and follow the guidance of Public Health to ensure the safety of our teammates and customers whenever we are made aware of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in one of our food stores or distribution centres,” reads Metro’s website.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases in stores by province within the last 15 days, as well as Sobey’s for the last 14 days.
