GO Transit removes bus from service after passenger tests positive for coronavirus

A passenger on a GO bus that travelled from Pearson to Hamilton GO Centre has tested positive for COVID-19, the transit company announced on Thursday.
The vehicle was a Route 40 GO Bus that travelled from 6:10 pm on March 12.
GO Transit said that “out of an abundance of caution,” the bus was taken out of service and was “thoroughly disinfected.”
Out of an abundance of caution, the bus was removed from service & thoroughly disinfected. Hamilton Public Health has determined the risk is low & does not need to speak with customers. Customers with concerns about their health should speak with their healthcare provider.

The company said that the bus driver spoke with Public Health and, although they have no symptoms, are self-isolating as a precaution.
Hamilton Public Health has determined the risk is low for other passengers, according to GO Transit, and isn’t looking to speak with other customers.
However, anyone concerned about their health should speak with their healthcare provider.
