GO Train stations now have UV light boxes to sanitize your phone
GO Train customers are now able to sanitize their phones at more than a dozen different GO stations using newly installed UV light disinfecting booths.
On Monday, Metrolinx announced the launch of CleanSlate UV sanitizers at 18 different stations, including Union Station, Union Station Bus Terminal, and the Hwy 407 Bus Terminal that will sanitize your belongings in just 20 seconds.
UP Express passengers will also find sanitizing stations at the UP Express Union Station and Pearson terminals.
According to Metrolinx, the small UV lightboxes can kill 99.9% of germs on phones, tablets, keys, watches, access cards, and even pencils.
“UV light is among the best solutions for sanitizing electronics, as it will not damage devices with the use of chemicals, it eliminates human error, and it is the fastest, most effective method available,” wrote Kevin Kloostra, Metrolinx marketing accounts manager, in a company blog post.
If you’re travelling on GO or UP for essential reasons, wear your mask at all times, use the hand sanitizer on board & clean your phone & PRESTO card with UV light.
