Environment Canada has issued a special statement advising Torontonians to expect a “messy mix of winter weather” starting early Sunday morning.
A coming system could bring several hours of freezing rain or ice pellets, the weather agency said. The wind chill could reach -15 °C in the morning.
By Sunday afternoon, the freezing rain could change to light snow or freezing drizzle.
Some areas could see five to 10 centimetres of snow or ice pellets by Monday morning, according to Environment Canada.
You’ll also want to bundle up because strong winds gusting up to 70 kilometres an hour are also expected. Those winds could result in blowing snow, hampering visibility on the city’s roads and highways.
