Ontario Premier Doug Ford has released a new video message on the importance of staying home during the Super Bowl which airs on Sunday.

This is Ford’s third video message telling residents the importance of staying home, with the first two involving the premier saying “stay at home” in various languages.

On Thursday afternoon, Ford said, “I know many of you are excited for the #SuperBowl this weekend between the @Chiefs & @Buccaneers, but do me a favour & STAY AT HOME! Enjoy the game virtually with anyone you don’t live with & support your favourite local restaurants by buying some takeout.”

Oh, and don’t forget, he’s a Tom Brady fan.

In the video Ford adds, “I know everyone is exciting for the Super Bowl, I know there’s no bigger football fan than I am…and full disclosure I’m a Brady fan. But folks please just do me a favour, stay at home, stick with your family, watch a great game. It’s going to be phenomenal, two of the greatest quarterbacks it’s going to be phenomenal.”

The premier also emphasized the importance of ordering take out from local restaurants and support small businesses.

Ontario has been under a Stay at Home order since January 14, with COVID-19 cases see a decline in the last couple of weeks. However with the new variants, health officials are remaining cautious on reopening.

So this weekend watch the game from the comfort of your home with only those in your household. It will make Ford proud.
