Ford to make announcement with Minister of Long-Term Care today
Premier Doug Ford will be joined by Merrilee Fullerton, Minister of Long-Term Care, to make an announcement on Thursday afternoon.
Ontario’s COVID-19 case count has been high recently with Wednesday’s’ 2,139 and Tuesday’s 2,275, the highest number since the pandemic began.
There are 135 active outbreaks in long-term care homes across the province, with 728 confirmed cases among residents, and 788 cases among staff.
To date there have been 2,442 COVID-19 related deaths in long-term care facilities, which accounts for the majority of the total reported deaths of 4,035 in the province since the pandemic began.
The press briefing will take place at 1 pm from Queen’s Park.
