Sep 10 2020, 6:25 am

Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement in Sudbury on Thursday afternoon.

Ford will be joined by Greg Rickford, Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines and Minister of Indigenous Affairs, and Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions.

The announcement comes after Ford and Quebec Premier Francois Legault held an inaugural two-day Ontario-Quebec Summit.

On Wednesday, both premiers called on the federal government to provide more funding to provincial healthcare “to remedy longstanding underinvestment.”

The two parties also agreed to collaborate on combatting US protectionism, removing trade barriers, and promoting Ontario-made and Québec-made products to help protect and create more jobs for Ontarians and Quebeckers.

The press briefing will be at 1 pm.
