Ford to make announcement with Markham Mayor today
Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement today with the Markham Mayor in York Region today.
On Friday, Ford will speak with Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano, who is also the president and vice chancellor of York University and the chairman and CEO of York Region, and Billy Pang the MPP for Markham-Unionville.
York Region is one of several regions entering Stage 3 of the province’s reopening plan today.
In Stage 3, dine-in restaurants, bars, gyms, fitness centres, live shows, performing arts centres, casinos, concert venues, recreational facilities, team sports, fundraisers, fairs, festivals or open houses, and tour and guide services can reopen.
And, groups of 50 can congregate indoors and 100 can meet outdoors.
The briefing will be held at 1 pm.
