Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday afternoon.

Both will be joined by Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, and Anita Anand, federal Minister of Public Services and Procurement.

Recently, the federal government worked with provinces and territories, providing them with $19 billion in economic restart, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ontario received $7 billion, offering $4 billion to municipalities.

And on Thursday, the federal government announced it’s extending the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) another four weeks as it prepares to transition to an expanded Employment Insurance (EI) program with new sick benefits.

The press briefing will take place at 1 pm in Brockville, Ontario.
