Ford to make announcement with Health Minister in Toronto

Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement with Health Minister Christine Elliott on Tuesday afternoon in Toronto.

They will be joined by Minister of Long-Term Care Merrilee Fullerton.

On Monday, Ontario reported a record-high single day count with 1,589. In order to curb the resurgence of the virus, Toronto and Peel Region went into another lockdown, as more than half of Ontario’s cases usually come from these two regions.

Currently, in long-term care facilities, which have been the hardest hit during the pandemic, 101 have a COVID-19 outbreak. And 528 residents and 467 staff have the virus.

The press briefing will take place at 1 pm.
