Ford to make announcement with Education Minister today

Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement today with the Education Minister as select schools begin classes this week.

Ford will be joined by Stephen Lecce as well as Health Minister Christine Elliot and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams.

Many school boards in the GTA have staggered start times to avoid overcrowding on the first day.

The province’s back-to-school plan has been met with criticism over class sizes not being reduced, causing concerns over physical distancing in the classroom.

The press briefing will take place at 1 pm at Queen’s Park.
