Ontario Premier Doug Ford will be announcing the reopening plans for Stage 3 on Monday, his office confirmed to Daily Hive.
Ford has taken a regional approach to reopening the province, with the first regions given the green light on June 12, with seven more regions allowed on June 19, and Toronto and Peel region following five days later.
Windsor-Essex was the last region to enter the second stage, due to COVID-19 outbreaks on farms.
According to the province’s reopening framework Stage 3 will see the reopening of most remaining workplaces and community spaces, while “carefully and gradually” lifting restrictions.
And, public health advice and workplace safety guidance will remain in place while large public gatherings will continue to be restricted — concerts and sporting events will continue to be restricted “for the foreseeable future.”
Ford will be joined by Health Minister Christine Elliott, Finance Minister Rod Phillips, and Education Minister Stephen Lecce.
The press conference will be held at 1 pm at Queens Park.
