Food Network is casting home cooks across Canada for one of its shows right now
Food Network Canada is searching across the country for home cooks to star in one of its shows, and you can apply right now.
Are you the resident dinner party host in your friend group? Do you have a signature dish that’s requested for every get-together? If so, now might be your chance at a starring role on the small screen, as Food Network Canada is casting its net (get it?) far and wide to find talent to appear on the upcoming season of Come Dine With Me Canada.
For those not familiar with the concept, or who’ve only come across it from that viral video of the contestant sampling his chocolate cheesecake by putting the entire whisk in his mouth on the original version of the show, here’s what it’s all about.
Five strangers who live in the same area are called upon to host a dinner party and attend those hosted by their fellow contestants, and, at the end of the week, the crew comes together to decide which host will walk away with a small cash prize and immense bragging rights.
Sound like something you could do with ease? You can apply now through an online casting form, as long as you’re a Canadian resident, over 19 years old, and able to film between August and October 2025.
You also can’t be a professional chef, but that goes without saying.
The casting process includes a series of questions like “describe yourself in two sentences,” and “are you very competitive?” alongside a variety of questions about your cooking skill, style, and signature dishes, as well as what your menu would be should you be selected for the show.
Additionally, you’ll have to submit photos of yourself and your home, as well as a 90-second video introducing yourself, giving one word to describe you as a host, explaining your hosting and cooking style, and convincing the casting directors why you’ll make a strong competitor.
The Canadian Come Dine With Me franchise aired briefly between 2010 and 2014 on the W Network, but has since changed hands to Food Network Canada for the reboot. So if you were a fan of the original, you can expect some fresh new energy infused into the show.
The new season of Come Dine With Me Canada is expected to air in late 2025.
