A COVID-19 outbreak at a FedEx facility in Vaughan has now spread to more than 50 people since it was first declared in November 2020.
York Region Public Health (YRPH) reported on February 10 that 54 cases are now associated with a COVID-19 outbreak at FedEx Ground Terminal, located at 45 Di Poce Way.
Of the positive cases, 29 are from Peel Region, 13 are Toronto, 10 are from York Region, and two cases are from Wellington-Dufferin Guelph.

The health unit noted that more than half of the confirmed cases were detected on or before December 12, and that most of the affected employees have recovered.
The outbreak was first declared on November 18 after 15 workers were suspected to have contracted the virus.
“York Region Public Health continues to closely monitor this situation,” the health unit said. “There is the potential for more cases to be identified in the workplace.”
“The risk to the general public is considered low.”
To date, Ontario has seen 282,511 COVID-19 cases and 6,614 virus-related deaths.
