Fancy Franks is giving away FREE hot dogs tomorrow

Jul 14 2016, 10:21 pm

Tomorrow, Friday July 22, Fancy Franks (326 College Street) is putting on its fourth celebration of National Hot Dog Day (that’s #nhdd for all you Instagrammers).

Between 12-7 pm you can get your free hot dog on their patio. It’s a family-friendly event with entertainment that includes a clown, face-painting, animal balloons, and a DJ.

The tasty giveaway is in support of SickKids Foundation, and guests will be invited to contribute through the purchase of a drink, merchandise, or just a donation. Over the past few years Fancy Franks’ annual free dogs days have raised a total of $7000 for charity. You can also stop by any of the Fancy Franks locations all week to make a donation.

Owner Angelos Economopoulos popularized the celebration of National Hot Dog Day in Toronto three years ago, bringing the hot dog across the border love from the U.S. Since then the event has seen over 10,000 hot dog lovers lining up for a bite. That includes Mayor John Tory last year, who even flipped and served some dogs for a lucky few.

Fancy Franks is no stranger to the lime light, either. The restaurant was featured on You Gotta Eat Here! and has seen the likes of Drake, Katy Perry, Chris Rock, Serena Williams and Octavia Spencer stop by.

Don’t forget to tag all your dogs with #dhtofood for your chance to be featured on our Instagram account!
