There's going to be free parking in Toronto on Family Day
The Toronto Police Service announced that it’s not going to be enforcing some on-street parking bylaws on Family Day.
On February 15, Park Enforcement Officers will not impose the following:
- Pay-and-Display/Metered Areas
- Rush-Hour Routes
- Posted signs indicating Monday to Friday regulations
“All other areas and parking offences will continue to be enforced in accordance with parking enforcement lockdown measures,” police said.

Some parking rules were temporarily suspended in March 2020 due to COVID-19, but officers began reinforcing them in July.
Regular rush hour parking rules were reinstated in November after being paused for the CafeTO program.
So whether you’re out for a walk with your household or waving at loved ones from a distance, parking tickets are one thing you won’t have to worry about this Family Day.
