The Fairmont Royal York is hosting holiday pop-up bar this season

For those who love to combine class with a playful vibe, the Fairmont Royal York is serving up the perfect holiday treat this season.

The Thirsty Elf pop-up bar will be taking over the former York Station space inside the hotel, running for an exclusive four weekends only in the lead-up to Christmas.

Anticipate tacky festive decorations with a kitschy feel and a festive cocktail menu, offering the perfect place for your cohort of pals to don your ugliest Christmas sweaters.

Previously known as the city’s smallest bar, the space that used to house York Station holds only 30 seats, and was run by one bartender for over 20 years. The Thirsty Elf will be the second thing to grace the space since its closure, following only a Great Gatsby-style pop-up during last year’s TIFF festivities.

The spot will only be accessible for 12 days. The 12 days of Christmas, some might say.

Open from Thursdays to Saturdays for four consecutive weekends, the bar will open on November 28 at 6:30 pm — after the hotel’s tree lighting ceremony, which begins at 6 pm and is free to attend.

Free to attend, the pop-up bar will not be excepting reservations, and entry will be first-come, first-served.
