Toronto, it’s about to get nasty out there.
Which is why Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the city for today.
According to the weather agency, showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop over the area this morning.
Locally, heavy rainfall accumulations of 20 to 40 mm will also be possible by the time the precipitation comes to an end later this morning.
Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon.

According to the weather agency, a high of 28ºC is expected on Wednesday afternoon, which could feel more like 36ºC with the humidex.
However, temperatures are expected to drop down to a much more comfortable low of 19ºC this evening, but there will still be a 30% chance of showers and risk of thunderstorms.
