Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the City of Toronto.
It’s currently 30°C in the city as of 11 am and it’s expected to reach 34°C later this afternoon. According to Environment Canada, that will leave the city feeling more like 42°C later today with the humidex.
The heat event is expected to continue through Monday.
“Daytime maximum values of 31°C or higher are expected today and on Monday with Humidex values near 40,” states the heat warning. “Overnight minimum temperatures will only fall to near 20°C, except 22 to 24 over some urban areas, providing little relief from the heat.”
A cold front is expected to to move through the area Tuesday bringing an end to this event.
