The Drake Hotel has announced the opening of their Artist Loft for guests and reservations can be made as early as next month.

According to the Drake Hotel, the 800 square foot space, which is designed for touring artists playing at the Drake Underground and for The Drake’s Artist in Residency program, will allow up to eight guests an opportunity for overnight stays starting October 1.

“The Drake Hotel and Drake Underground have been a staple in the Toronto creative scene for 17 years, with artists like Billie Eilish, Leon Bridges, M.I.A. and more performing their first shows in Toronto on our stages,” said Chris Wilson, Director of Programming and Brand Partnerships, Drake Hotel Properties.

“We wanted to give all the incredible artists that play our stages a unique space that shows our appreciation for their craft and that continues to foster the creative vibes that spark in the Drake Underground, the Sky Yard, and other spaces of The Drake Hotel, so the Artist Loft was born. You can really feel the energy as soon as you walk into the room, and we can’t wait for our guests to be able to experience it for themselves.”

According to the Drake Hotel, the two-floor loft will also be available for small-scale private events like listening parties, product previews, meet and greets, and more.

The loft is equipped with two private bedrooms each with a Queen-sized bed, an additional two beds for guests, a communal space with couches, and a kitchenette.

The space has a private entrance with a keyless check-in which according to the Drake, allows for social distancing measures to keep in place.

“We know today’s traveler is looking for an outside-the-box experience, and the Artist Loft provides exactly that,” says Scott Hart, Chief Operating Officer, Drake Hotel Properties.

“Whether you’re a small team of creatives looking for an inspiring space to collaborate, a family seeking to get in touch with Toronto’s music scene on a weekend away, or a group of friends who want all the benefits of a private location paired with world-class hospitality, the Artist Loft is the answer. Our guests will get to experience how a true local lives in one of the country’s most energetic and exciting neighbourhoods. We can’t wait to welcome guests to this vibrant and one-of-a-kind space.”
