The Don Valley is hosting a magical solstice lantern walk this month

Dec 8 2017, 10:19 pm

Before you know it, that start of winter will be officially here.

And with the new season comes the winter solstice, and in turn, the darkest day(s) of the year.

To mark the special occasion, Toronto’s Don Valley is inviting the city to join it on its annual winter solstice lantern walk, where the darkness is filled with stories and light.

Participants will first get to make their own lantern and then join in on a walk through the wetland trails in the Don Valley Brick Works Park during the darkest period of the year and then linger after and enjoy the Winter Village festivities.

Those who attend are asked to dress appropriately for the weather, think layers, warm clothes and comfortable footwear.

This guided walk is free and open to the public.
