Dan Levy is calling on the public to help him support the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Native Studies.

The Canadian actor of Schitt’s Creek fame had recently completed a 13-week Indigenous Canada course at the university, and took to Twitter to ask his followers to support the faculty.

“The faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta is the only Faculty of Native Studies in North America,” Levy said in the video posted to Twitter on November 15.

Levy noted that anyone who made a donation to the faculty would see their contribution matched by him.

“I am urging all of you to donate if you can to the faculty, and I am going to match you dollar for dollar up to $25,000.”

According to the UofA’s Faculty of Native Studies’ website, it “strives to create transformative change through research and teaching with real-world impact.”

Donations can be made at the faculty’s online donation page.

“That is a lot of money we can raise for an incredibly deserving faculty,” Levy said.
