Canada Day celebrations in Toronto extends to everyone, which is why Mayor John Tory is hosting a picnic for Syrian newcomers on Friday.
The City of Toronto’s Newcomer Office and COSTI Immigrant Services, will host a picnic for Canada’s 150th birthday and COSTI’s 65th anniversary.
Toronto’s Refugee Resettlement Program began in October 2015, and included agreements with community agencies to increase supports and resources available to new Torontonians and their sponsors.
As for COSTI, it is a community-based multicultural agency providing employment, language training, settlement and social services to all immigrant communities, new Canadians and individuals in need of assistance.
