The Beaches is getting a cherry blossom festival this year.

That’s right, the already beautiful, destination-worthy, east-end Toronto neighbourhood is about to get its very own cherry blossom festival.

Councillor Mary-Margaret McMahon’s office confirmed to Daily Hive that, while no new Sakura trees will be planted this year, they are planning a Sakura Matsuri, which is a cherry blossom festival.

Although full details are still being worked out, the Councillor’s office said that the festival will take place sometime in May.

More details will be available in April, and we can’t wait to share them.

And if you can’t get enough of those blossoms, besides The Beaches, each spring Sakura in High Park takes place in Toronto, with the blossoms predicted to reach peak bloom sometime between mid-April and May.
