A massive free party celebrating Toronto's 186th birthday is coming in March

Toronto is turning 186-years-old next year, and even at that age, it still knows how to party.

Celebrate Toronto is returning to Nathan Phillips Square in 2020, with a free two-day event. Taking place on March 7 and 8, it’ll be a perfect way to say goodbye to the winter season while showing some serious love for the place we call home.

The event has put out a call for vendors and food trucks, but if last year’s celebration is any indication, it’ll be a tasty time for foodies and shoppers alike.

Saturday, March 7, will include live music from local bands, and a chance to take a photo with the Celebrate Toronto’s official mascot “Remi the Raccoon.” A photo with the cuddly trash panda can also win you a trip to Montreal on Via Rail.

Sunday, March 8, will feature a slew of interactive activities honouring Toronto’s 186th anniversary.

There will also be skating (weather permitting) and equipment rentals on site.

Don’t miss the birthday for everyone’s favourite mutual friend, Toronto.
