Update: The Toronto District School Board says the lockdown has been lifted.

Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute is currently in lockdown after gunshots were reported, according to Toronto police.

Officers say they responded to calls for the sound of gunshots at the school, located at 550 Markham Road in Scarborough, just after 1:20 pm on Wednesday.

They initially reported that shell casings were found in the school’s parking lot and bullet holes were found in a car, and there were no reported victims or injuries.

Since then, law enforcement has said that while the library remains in lockdown, the parking lot is in use.

There is a staging area for families at 545 Markham Road.

The Toronto District School Board said that police are continuing their investigation in the area, and they will offer updates when they become available.

The school board also said that a number of schools had initially been under Hold and Secure, but that call has since been lifted.
