It’s official: You can finally sip a drink on a rooftop on Dundas West.

Legally, anyway.

Casa La Palma has arrived on Dundas Street West, above La Palma, and it’s brought with it Palm Springs-inspired style.

The 1,400-sq-ft lounge and event space has a 28-seat private dining room and can accommodate 60 people for a cocktail-style reception.

It also boasts the only rooftop patio on Dundas West, from Parkdale to Chinatown.

“We wanted to create an extension of La Palma that was connected to the downstairs concept but provided a unique experience. And in keeping with the California vibe, we looked to Palm Springs for inspiration,” said Alexandra Hutchison, co-owner and interior designer of La Palma and Casa.

“The space is a contemporary take on the quintessential Palm Springs interior, a sunken living room with a central hearth that evokes the familiarity of domestic hospitality,” she said.

And just as the style of the space is inspired, the menu looks warm and inviting as well. Broken down into digestible sections including cheese, salumi, seafood, snacks and sweet, it’s ideal for nibbling while you socialize.

“Casa’s menu is the way Craig and I like to eat,” explains Executive Chef Julian D’ippolito. “When we’re at home with our families or in the kitchen we like to graze on snacks – antipasti, cheese, meat – it’s part of our culture; our way of eating and socializing. Dinner can last for hours,” he says.

In a space that looks like this, dinner lasting hours sounds wonderful.
