Every year, Ottawa hosts the massive Canadian Tulip Festival.
The flagship festival showcases the Capital’s official flower as a symbol of international friendship while hosting tulip art, floral exhibits and installations from artists across Canada. All this appears alongside culinary experiences, interactive family programming and entertainment, breathtaking fireworks, guided tours, and of course, millions of tulips in bloom.
This year, celebrating its 66th anniversary, the official flower of the 2018 festival is the World Friendship Tulip, a cream yellow Darwin Hybrid, that grows to a height of 14 to 20′ inches in full sun, according to organizers.
Taking place May 11 to 21, the Canadian Tulip Festival is the largest of its kind in the world.
So be plan that road trip (or train trip) to Ottawa this spring.
