This Canadian skating trail is a magical sight (PHOTOS)

There’s something magical about skating on a frozen lake in the winter.

It’s not just one of the most picturesque activities to do when the cold comes, but also one of the most iconic Canadian past-times as well.

The good folks up in Edmonton have taken outdoor ice skating to a whole new level, flooding Victoria Park and turning it into an absolutely stunning ice trail that can be enjoyed day and night.

The trail is lit by colourful lights that only add to the already magical experience, and those who take to the ice are able to enjoy the roughly 2,700 square metres of skateable surface.

The official hours of operation run from 10 am to 10 pm, and the freezeway, as it’s been called, is free to use.

Those hoping to take a skate should be sure to check conditions before heading over to Victoria Park.
