Canada Post has temporarily stopped delivering mail to a Toronto residential building due to tenants not wearing masks in indoor public areas.

The building in question, 105 West Lodge Avenue, reportedly has tenants not wearing masks indoors in public areas that need to be accessed to deliver the mail.

A spokesperson from Canada Post told Daily Hive that there have been “health and safety concerns over an extended period expressed by our employees.”

“Our health and safety committee has been working with building management to resolve this issue as soon as possible, to return to regular mail delivery at this address.”

The spokesperson added, for now, Canada Post is attempting delivery every day and customers have been advised with a letter that when it is unsafe to deliver mail, “mail delivery will be intermittent.”

In the meantime, customers can pick up their mail from the Canada Post depot located at 675 Commissioners Street, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.

“We know this is a difficult time and we appreciate our customers helping to keep our employees safe, which will also help keep our local communities safe,” the statement said.
