This is where Canada's most marriage-minded singles live

If you’re looking for love that ultimately leads to tying the knot, you may want to consider moving to St. John’s, NL, sooner than later.

According to a new study from EliteSingles, St. John’s, NL, is surprisingly home to Canada’s most marriage-minded singles.

The study, which looked at anonymous data from 40,000 men and women registered on EliteSingles, revealed the top 15 cities from coast to coast that are home to Canadian singles ready to commit.

The study primarily analyzed responses to the statement “marriage is important to me and should be important to my partner.”

According to EliteSingles, the more strongly someone agreed with the statement, the more marriage-minded they were deemed to be.

The study found that St. John’s, NL, is home to the highest number of singles interested in marriage than any other city in the country.

As for the other cities interested in tying the knot, the Greater Toronto Area was actually home to eight of the top 15 marriage-minded cities in Canada, including Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham, Brampton, Toronto, Mississauga, Milton, and Oakville.

British Columbia had four cities make it onto the ranking, including Coquitlam, Burnaby, Surrey, and Abbotsford.

Alberta only had two cities make the list, with Edmonton and St. Albert making appearances.

But still, it’s safe to say that if you want to say ‘I do’ any time soon, it might be time to try dating in St. John’s or the GTA.
