A (physically-distanced) burger pop-up is happening in Toronto this weekend

May 19 2020, 8:52 am

Burger Drops is back, Toronto. And it’s more physically-distanced than ever!

The beloved smash burger pop-up has been test running events based on pre-orders over the course of the last month.

This week, the biz is offering pick-up from noon to 6 pm at 162 Princess Street on two dates: Friday and Saturday.

On the menu are the classic smash burgers — a given — featuring a crispy and juice patty, cheese, grilled onions, and special sauce, plus fries, pickles, extra drop sauce, and soda pop.

Some folks will take this opportunity to get one handheld, but for a real heavy-hitter, you can order a whole sleeve of burgs! That’s four of them, tucked cozily into a little cardboard box, for your ease.

You’ll be able to place your order online starting on Tuesday, at 5 pm. As you pre-order, you will also choose your pickup date and time.

To ensure burger-lovers are safe throughout the whole experience, Burger Drops has a handful of rules in place for the pop-up. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. No mask, no burger. “No exceptions.” There won’t be masks available at the pick-up location, so make sure you bring your own.
  2. Don’t be late. Ensure you only line up within your 15-minute pickup time slot. So, if your time is 1:15, you can line up between 1:15 and 1:30. No-shows will not be refunded.
  3. One guest per pickup order. No standing in line with your partner, family, or pals.
  4. You must line up. This isn’t a curb-side thing; burgers won’t be brought to your vehicle. So, if you’re driving, make sure you give yourself time to park.

And we’re going to add one final rule here that’s not part of the Burger Drops Mandate… though we’re sure they would approve: Enjoy every last bite.
