East enders will need to find a new place for pot roast, as one of Leslieville’s coziest spots prepares to shutter.

Brooklyn Tavern announced on Facebook that its last day of service will be January 25, after six years serving the neighbourhood.

“We have sold the restaurant and the new owners will unveil their terrific new concept soon,” reads the post. “It has been our great pleasure to get to know you as customers and friends, to share our food and drink, and to watch your families grow.”

The post notes that while the folks behind the restaurant will miss their patrons greatly, they’re “ready to move on to new opportunities.”

Comments have racked up on the posting, shared on Wednesday, expressing sadness for the loss of the space but gratitude for the meals and atmosphere it offered.

Over the next couple of weeks, the eatery will be open for dinner service Tuesdays through Sundays, and open for brunch on Sundays only.
