Ex-Breakfast Television co-hosts Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw link up after firing

Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw may no longer be working together on Breakfast Television, but it appears the two former coworkers remain close friends.

On Monday, many viewers of CityNews’ morning program woke up to the news that the network had parted ways with the two co-hosts. Their last show was a week ago today, February 7.

On Thursday, it appears that the two ex-hosts got together for a meal at a popular downtown Toronto steakhouse located near Yonge-Dundas.

“Snow day at Barberian’s Steak House,” Seixeiro wrote in an Instagram post.

No official reason was given for the pair’s departure in a statement from Rogers Sports and Media to Daily Hive.

Seixeiro hosted the show since 2021, while Shaw began in 2023 as a replacement for Dina Pugliese. Seixeiro began his career with Rogers on Sportsnet, co-hosting the Tim & Sid show alongside Tim Micallef from 2011 until 2021, when Micallef took over the show as Tim & Friends.

“It was an absolute honour getting to work with Meredith Shaw,” Seixeiro wrote in a social media post earlier this week. “She’s driven, she challenged me every day and made me a better broadcaster. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her. She’s just getting started.”

It appears that the admiration for Seixeiro is mutual from Shaw, who began her career as a singer-songwriter and eventually transitioned into media in 2011 when she worked at Toronto radio station Boom 97.3.

“Not gonna lie, this is hard. Deep breath. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes & hearts,” Shaw wrote in a post on Instagram earlier this week. “Thank you, Sid, for being a tremendous teammate and friend. You’re the best of the best and I love you.”
