A Brampton Tim Hortons employee who worked at the Tim Hortons-Petro Canada location at 11980 Highway #10 has tested positive for COVID-19, said the city’s mayor.

Mayor Patrick Brown said that the time period of concern is from March 9 to 20, and anyone who visited the location for any reason should self-isolate for 14 days.

Brown said that anyone who is concerned should contact Peel Public Health to confirm self-isolation is necessary.  He assured the risk was on the Tim Hortons side, not the fuelling side of the address.

Tim Hortons confirmed the employee tested positive and said that the team-member is at home with minimal symptoms.

Other team-members are self-isolating for 14 days.

The coffee chain also said that the location was immediately closed to be “thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.”

Tim Hortons said that the site will only be reopened when it’s safe for guests to be served.
